Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB)

The Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB) is a seven member Board which considers applications and recommends to Borough Council property owners' proposed changes that would be visible from the street and that are pertinent to the preservation of the historic and/or architectural aspect and nature of the building, site, area or district. ORDINANCE Number 604 established the Historic District and guidelines in April of 2001.

The Wellsboro Historic District is bounded as follows: To and including the rear lot lines of all properties on both sides of East Avenue from the intersection of McInroy Street and Grant Street to Main Street, including two properties on the north and east of Main Street adjacent to the Wellsboro Diner; to and including the rear lot lines of all properties on both sides of Main Street to the intersection of West Avenue; to and including the rear lot lines of all properties on both sides of West Avenue to the intersection of Eberenz Street; to and including the rear lot lines of all properties on both sides of Central Avenue to the end of the Boulevard at Sturrock Street.

The Wellsboro Historic Architectural Review Board meets the 1st Tuesday of the month. at 5:00 p.m..
